7/2/2015 Lanark Records announces 52 Singles in 52 Weeks

While Rockabilly and Roots are often labeled as “throwback” or “vintage” music, these genres have remained powerful, consistent, and relevant while other styles have come and gone. Rockabilly fondly remembers the days that labels such as the legendary Sun Records led the industry with their focus on releasing singles, an idea that has become widely re-embraced by the music industry today. Rockabilly leader Lanark Records is proud to embrace this single driven heritage with their 52 Singles in 52 Weeks project. Each week for the next year, Rockabilly and Roots fans can look forward to new single releases from Lanark featuring classic covers and new material from Lanark’s outstanding roster of artists as well as incredible featured guest artists.

Leading off the series is the label’s hard-hitting The Reach Around Rodeo Clowns with their cover of the classic Buzz & The Flyers track “Boomerang.” Along with long time members Quentin Jones on guitar and Wendell Jones on vocals, it features musicians Dave Roe (Johnny Cash, John Mellencamp, Dwight Yoakam) on bass and Liberty DeVitto (Billy Joel, Carly Simon, Meatloaf) on drums.
